VINTAGE MONACO GRAND PRIX

In the modern F1 era, Monaco has clinched the all-time record for the fewest number of cars to finish a race. On two occasions, in 1966 and 1996, only four cars made it to the finish line. The victor of the 1996 race of attrition was the improbable and celebrated Ligier driver Olivier Panis.

Louis Chiron, a local legend, was the oldest person to compete in a Formula 1 race when he took part in the 1955 Monaco Grand Prix. At 55 years old, Chiron finished sixth in his Lancia, five laps behind the winner Maurice Trintignant. (The Bugatti Chiron was also named after him!)

Charles Leclerc, in 2018, became the first Monegasque driver to race in his homeland since Olivier Beretta in 1994. It took three unsuccessful attempts, but Leclerc finally crossed the finish line on home soil for the first time in 2022.

This particular piece began as an original "prompt" that was processed in an artificial intelligence image generation application.
