STUTTART was founded by Dan Shust, an artist & designer living and working in Cleveland, Ohio.

It’s a familiar story, I’m a car guy from as far back as I can remember. I had a subscription to Road & Track at 9 years old, the Porsche Turbo and Lamborghini Countach posters on my bedroom wall. Too many Hot Wheels, AFX G-Plus slot cars, Revell and Monogram car model kits, etc.

When I got old enough to own the real thing, I gravitated toward the European side of the automotive world (VW & Audi), took a brief turn into Japan (Subaru WRX STI) and then went straight back for more Euro. Eventually I started getting into the cars born in Stuttgart, Germany (hence the name of our site) and I was hooked. I’ve owned a 1974 911 Carrera, a 1979 911SC, a 2017 911S, a 2021 Cayman GTS 4.0 and the latest is a 2023 Carrera T. I’ve loved them all. Porsche, there is no substitute. (At least, for me ;)

I love a good car show, meetup, or a Cars & Coffee. The marques don’t matter…from American muscle to Japanese tuners to Euro. A few years back I started taking A LOT of photos at the shows, (check out our blog) bringing them into to the computer and working on different techniques to achieve a more hand-drawn/painted historic look.

With the advent of AI Image Generation tools, I have finally found a way to bring a variety of mediums and assets together resulting in beautiful automotive art that is at the same time classic in style, but forward leaning in technique.
